Punjab Safe Cities Authority hosted 72nd Pakistan Independence Day Celebrations in an unparalleled zeal. The authority’s headquarters at Qurban Lines echoed with the National Anthem recited in Chorus by its staffs and the youthful workforce of more than 800 Police Communication Officers heavily imbued in patriotism.

Managing Director of the Authority AIG Malik Ali Amir was the Chief Guest in the ceremony. The occasion was graced by Chief Operating Officer DIG Akbar Nasir Khan and Chief Administration Officer DIG Kamran Khan. The special arrivals and attendances were made by the Chinese Counterparts of the workforce and contractors responsible for various deliverables of the project. The female PCOs that constitute a significant 25% of the workforce, very excitedly, participated in various activities of the function that continued for more than two hours in a row. LEAs and counterpart organizations, together who establish this Integrated Operations platform, were also present and active in the celebrations that had a run-down of speeches, tableaus, patriotic songs, serious and comic skits performed by the Police Communication Officers.

While expressing his views, the chief guest said that today is the day to re-utter our promise to the nation that we’ll strive hard to make this country one of the greatest on the face of earth. He said that the average age of officers working in PSCA is 24 years and these youngsters are the architects of our bright future. The Chief Operating Officers Akbar Nasir Khan said that our youngsters are extremely talented and they need to strive hard as per the Quaid’s vision. The speakers specially paid tribute to the martyrs of Independence and our brave security forces.

Punjab Police’ Special Musical band under the leadership of infamous Babar Ali Baila also amused the participants throughout the event. The audience was green-clad, wearing and swaying various Independence day novelties. The event was concluded with a roaring Long Live Pakistan slogan and prayers for national safety and prosperity.
