Entry Procedure for Employees

  • All employees must carry their PPIC3 RFID identity/access card with them at all times.
  • No employee vehicles are to enter the PPIC3 Centre facility. All employees must enter as pedestrians through the Security Hut.
  • If employee holds a PPIC3 RFID identity / access card they shall proceed to the Security Hut entry door and present their card to the Access Control Reader which shall allow the gate to open once their card has been authenticated. The security guard stationed at the Security Hut shall ensure that there is no “tail gating”.
  • Employees that do not hold a PPIC3 RFID identity / access card shall proceed to the Security Hut and report to the security guard. If the security guard authenticates the employee and allows them entry, a temporary card will be issued.
  • All employees entering the facility will observe the following procedure:
    • Place all bags, folders, helmets and any other items onto the baggage scanning machine for scanning;
    • Walk through the body scanner whilst baggage is being scanned;
    • If an alarm is triggered by the walk through body scanner, or baggage scanner, the employee will be asked to move to a manual scanning area for further scanning;
    • Once the employee has cleared both baggage and body scanning, proceed through the Security Hut exit door to the PPIC3 building.

Exit Procedure for Employees

  • All employees leaving the PPIC3 building will exit via the Security Hut.
  • Employees will hold a valid PPIC3 RFID identity / access card and present their card to the external Access Control Reader to gain access to the Security Hut.
  • If the employee holds a temporary PPIC3 RFID identity / access card, this will be returned to the security guard located within the Security Hut, or to the nominated return box.
  • All employees exiting the facility will observe the following procedure:
    • Place all bags, folders, helmets and any other items onto the baggage scanning machine for scanning;
    • Walk through the body scanner whilst baggage is being scanned;
    • If an alarm is triggered by the walk through body scanner, or baggage scanner, the employee will be asked to move to a manual scanning area for further scanning;
    • Once the employee has cleared both baggage and body scanning, proceed through the Security Hut front door to exit the facility.

Entry Procedure for Visitors (Vehicles)

  • Authorized and pre-arranged vehicles only will be granted access to the PPIC3 Centre.
  • No weapons are to be brought into the Centre. All security protocol personnel are to disarm prior to entry.
  • Passengers in a vehicle are to present themselves at the Security Hut for processing in accordance with the Entry Procedure for Visitors (Pedestrians) process below.
  • The driver of the vehicle is to speak into the intercom located at the front entry gate of the Centre and state their purpose for visiting and the name of their host in order to gain access;
  • The security guard in the Security Hut will either confirm or deny entry. If entry is confirmed, the security guard will grant entry by reclining the road blocker and opening the outer security gate, and the vehicle is to proceed into the airlock space inside.
  • When the vehicle is inside the airlock space, the security guard in the Security hut will close the outer security gate.
  • The vehicle will be scanned and checked by an Under Vehicle Surveillance System, CCTV, and manual scanning.
  • Once the vehicle passes security scanning, the security guard in the Security Hut will open the inner gate and allow the vehicle to proceed through to the PPIC3 Centre.
  • Once inside, the driver will make their way to the PPIC3 Centre reception area and announce their arrival to the security guard / concierge at the reception desk.
  • The security guard / concierge at reception will issue the visitor/s with a temporary access pass that is pre-programmed for their use, and will ensure their host at the Centre escorts them during their visit.

Entry Procedure for Visitors (Pedestrians)

  • No weapons are to be brought into the Centre. All security protocol personnel are to disarm prior to entry.
  • Visitors should proceed to the Security Hut and report to the security guard during business hours, or present themselves at the external intercom after hours to announce the following information:
    • Their name
    • Area of the Centre they wish to access
    • Purpose of visit
    • Name of their coordinator
    • Time of arrival
  • If the security guard authenticates the visitor and allows them entry, a temporary access pass will be issued to them for the duration of their visit.
  • All visitors observe the following procedure:
    • Place all bags, folders, helmets and any other items onto the baggage scanning machine for scanning;
    • Walk through the body scanner whilst baggage is being scanned;
    • If an alarm is triggered by the walk through body scanner, or baggage scanner, the visitor will be asked to move to a manual scanning area for further scanning;
    • Once the visitor has cleared both baggage and body scanning, proceed through the Security Hut exit door to the PPIC3 building.
    • Visitors should be met at Reception by the person that is hosting their visit, and are to inform their host when leaving the site.
    • Each visitor card will be allotted to employees according to their required zone. The security zones are mentioned below:
      • Security Zone 1 – All administration areas
      • Security Zone 2 – All of Zone 1 plus the ECC and DC
      • Security Zone 3 – All of Zone 2 plus SOMS, CCTV Control
      • Security Zone 4 – All of Zone 3 plus Police Strategic Room, CMC and Police Strategic Command;  Command, CMC, and Knowledge Centre
      • Security Zone 5 – Access all other areas, this should include the data Centre and the critical plant room areas that would disable the building operation if accessed
    • Visits are not permitted to access any part of the Centre except the security zone they have been approved to visit and their temporary access card allows them access to.
    • Upon the completion of the visit, the host is to escort the visitor back to the Security Hut so they can go through the exit procedure.

Exit Procedure for Visitors

  • All visitors leaving the PPIC3 building will exit via the Security Hut. Visitors will use their temporary access card and present it to the external Access Control Reader to gain access to the Security Hut.
  • The visitor will return their temporary access card to the security guard located within the Security Hut, or to the nominated return box.
  • All visitors exiting the facility will observe the following procedure:
    • Place all bags, folders, helmets and any other items onto the baggage scanning machine for scanning;
    • Walk through the body scanner whilst baggage is being scanned;
    • If an alarm is triggered by the walk through body scanner, or baggage scanner, the visitor will be asked to move to a manual scanning area for further scanning;
    • Once the visitor has cleared both baggage and body scanning, proceed through the Security Hut front door to exit the facility.
  • Loss or Theft of Visitor’s Pass:
    • If a visitor’s pass is lost or stolen, it must be reported immediately to the Security Hut or to the security guard / concierge at reception.  The card is to be cancelled as soon as the theft or loss has been reported, to prevent unauthorized use.  In the event the missing card is located, it can be re-activated, once security personnel have been notified.

Entry & Exit for Pre-Arranged Delegations

Delegations and official guests that are coming to visit the Centre shall follow the same process above for visitor entry / exit.
