PSCA Issued 75,000 E-challans - More than 7 Million Deposited in National Exchequer

Punjab Safe Cities Authority is pleased to announce much anticipated onset of Electronic Challaning from Monday, Sep 24, 2018. The initiative was test-run earlier to ensure optimum efficiency from the launch. Citizens may start receiving these E-Challaning instruments at their addresses registered against their vehicle IDs. These instruments contain real-time violation graphics, type and corresponding penalty numerics initially to be paid to branches of Bank of Punjab whereas similar arrangements are underway with National Bank of Pakistan along with various other deposit facilities.

  • If any vehicle violates the traffic rules at signals, road network camers automatically captures its four snapshots and put these vehicles into violation folder.

  • Cameras automatically separate the registered or unlicensed vehicle plates.

  • ETC manually check the snapshots and violations to make sure that ANPR camera have captured the correct violations. This include to verify the violation, violation type and number plate.

  • If ANPR cameras have captured the correct violations, then details of vehicle will be checked against vehicle management information (Excise Database).

  • If captured number plate is not correct then the ETC will identify the correct number plate from the video playback and then extract the information against the actual number plate of the violater.

  • If the information is matched with the excise database, then it will be consider valid and these snapshots along with other detail will be forwarded to the supervisor console.

  • After the confirmation of valid cameras challans by supervisor, violation tickets are dispatched through courier to the address of the violater.
