Capacity-building seminar on Tax Regulations

06 May 2016

Taxation is one of the critical issues in Pakistan’s economy, with poor compliance rates and a small tax net costing public exchequer millions. Hence it is the responsibility of all government departments and agencies to assure tax compliance on their respective services and goods. In this regard, on Thursday, May 6, 2016 officials from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) visited the Punjab Safe Cities Headquarters in Qurban Lines to hold a capacity building session with PSCA staff on tax related matters. The FBR officials highlighted best practices and standard procedures to comply with tax regulations in the functioning of the Authority. They touched on issues of withholding tax, double taxation and types of accounts. As the PSCA recognizes the importance of tax compliance it shall ensure that all of its consultants and sellers are registered with the Tax Department and pay the appropriate surcharges on all transactions.
