Lahore, April 10:
PSCA has prepared and finalized Punjab Unified Communication and Response (PUCAR-15) emergency response system to be launched across Punjab. It’s an important step in reforming the Police Response mechanism by introducing a dedicated & centralized complaint management and response system within its operations for all emergency or intervention seeking calls received on Police & Universal Helpline 15 across Punjab. All the data of Crime and police response across Punjab will be available for analysis within next three months through PUCAR-15.
These views were expressed by the chief operating officer of Punjab Safe Cities Authority Mr. Akbar Nasir Khan here in IC3 Lahore. Mr. Nasir said that PUCAR-15 is first of its kind innovation in both Pakistan and South East Asia in terms of its scopes and functions. This system will make possible recording and progress monitoring of all complaint calls received on 15 from all 36 districts across Punjab through PSCA’s centralized interface offering strategic information cascading and access to SPs, CPOs, DPOs, RPOs and IGP himself following a complaint escalation matrix. At optimum threshold, this system will revolutionize the Police Communication and Response mechanism overall by significantly reducing the turnaround times (TATs) required in complaint resolution & closure, he added. PUCAR-15 will be operational by next week and its test run has already been started. All police officers and 1200 Police station across province are interconnected through “Safe Police Network”, added the COO. We are also revamping and centralizing the 8787 helpline as per the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab. PSCA has established online data sharing and contact linkage between all Police Stations of the Province and IG Office, told the COO. Akbar Nasir also told that we have requested the competent authority that specialized force and staff must respond on emergency 15 calls across Punjab for effective remedy. Citizen will be able to launch their complaints through online system through PUCAR-15, told the chief operating officer. He also told that 15 emergency call will be considered as FIR shortly. PUCAR-15 system will help in reducing the police response time across the province, he concluded.
