Dr. Wajahat Qazi

Dr. Wajahat Mahmood Qazi is a distinguished AI researcher, technologist, and academic leader with an extensive background in artificial intelligence, robotics, cognitive sciences, and digital transformation. He currently serves as the In-Charge of the Intelligent Machines & Robotics Group and BSAI Program at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore, where he plays a pivotal role in advancing AI education and research.
Beyond academia, Dr. Qazi is the Co-founder and director of multiple AI-driven enterprises, including KNOWA Tech, CacheLogic, and Prescientech, where he leads innovation in AI, IoT, and robotics. He is actively engaged in policy development, serving as a member of the National AI Task Force and Technology Foresight Committee on Robotics for Vision 2025, advising the Government of Pakistan on AI and emerging technologies.

Dr. Muhammad Usman Ghani Khan is a Professor in the
Department of Computer Science and the Director of the National Center for Artificial Intelligence (NCAI) at UET Lahore. A distinguished alumnus of UET (Undergrad/Master) and Ph.D. graduate from The University of Sheffield, UK, he has made significant contributions to artificial intelligence research with over 150 high-impact-factor publications and research funding exceeding 700 million PKR. Dr Usman has held a visiting scholar position at Stanford University, USA and Edinburgh University UK, and interned at Toshiba, UK. He is also actively mentoring South-Asian students at Google IO in San Francisco. With expertise in computer vision, machine learning, natural language processing, generative AI, bioinformatics, augmented reality, and virtual reality, his research focuses on leveraging AI to create a better world through multi-modal, human-centered solutions. Passionate about academic collaboration and R&D-driven product innovation, Dr. Usman’s vision is to advance AI research that enhances human lives across diverse domains.

Faisal Ameer Malik

With more than 24 years of experience in the ICT sector and working for various organization from technical vendors, broadband operators and satellite communication. Faisal holds a very hand on knowledge and experience in multiple technology domains and their implementation across different industry domains. Faisal has led numerous digital transformation projects of enterprise and national scale across region ranging from smart city, network transformation, enterprise digital transformation, cloud & data centers to new wave of AI. As Chief Technology Officer, Faisal is responsible for the alignment and implementation of Huawei’s Middle East business strategy and technology vision and translate it to business success. He has led multiple country offices and been part of raising multiple business divisions within Huawei. In his 18 years at Huawei, Faisal has been part of both Carrier business and Enterprise division and has always been recognized as one of top achievers in the organization.

Suleman Mazhar is working as a professor in Information & Communication Engineering Program at Harbin Engineering University (China) since July 2019. He did PhD from Tokyo University (Japan) and postdoctorate from Georgetown University (Washington DC, USA). He had BS-CS from FASTNUCES (Lahore) and MS from GIK Institute (Pakistan). He is TYSP young scientist fellow (Ministry of Science & Technology China) and has won several research grants from international organizations (such as DAAD, MoST(China), ICIMOD, NRPU-HEC Pakistan, and WWF-Pakistan). He has a cumulative working/consultancy experience of over 10 years in academia (GIKI-Topi and ITU-Lahore) and industry (Zigron and Educative) in Pakistan. His research focus is deep learning and signal processing applications for remote sensing with particular focus on deep learning based acoustic and image classification with application in intelligent transportation, environmental monitoring, maritime and video-based surveillance. He is distinguished lecturer (DL) IEEE-OES, chair TC-UA (IEEE-OES), and reviewer/editor for professional journals such as Journal of Acoustical Society (America), IEEE Journal of Oceanic Engineering, IEEE Sensors Journal, Applied Acoustics, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems.

Dr. Ali Rizwan is an Artificial Intelligence professional with a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a focus on Artificial Intelligence from the University of Glasgow and M.Sc. in Data Science from Queen Mary University of London. With over ten years of experience in AI-driven healthcare solutions, his expertise spans AI-enabled Software as Medical Devices (SaMD), machine learning for pre-screening and holistic care, and AI-driven diagnostics.

As Chief AI Officer at AI4LYF, Dr. Rizwan has spearheaded the world’s first AI-powered holistic respiratory health management platform, revolutionizing how respiratory conditions are detected and managed. He has also developed a commercially viable AI-enabled SaMD, currently undergoing FDA regulatory review. His innovations include multiple patent applications, including a patent-pending AI-powered COVID-19 detection app and a touchless auto-inhaler usage detection and error identification system.

Additionally, he has developed several AI-enabled healthcare applications that are commercially available. Dr. Rizwan is also a prolific researcher, with numerous peer-reviewed publications on AI-driven healthcare innovations. His research contributions focus on AI-based health screening, multimodal data analytics, and medical AI applications, further shaping the future of AI-powered healthcare solutions

Easha Babar

Ms. Easha is a highly accomplished academic and researcher in the field of AI and Data Science. She earned her Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a specialization in Data Science and AI from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2023, following her Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, in 2019. Currently, she serves as a Full-Time Lecturer at FAST NUCES Lahore in the Department of AI and Data Science, where she plays a pivotal role in guiding final-year projects and co-advising MS theses, particularly in the domain of generative AI.

Alongside her academic responsibilities, she also contributes as a part-time AI Research Assistant at the University of Oklahoma and Purdue University, actively engaging in cutting-edge research in generative AI. Her research interests are centered on advancing generative AI technologies to create a smarter and safer future.

Dr. Athar Mansoor is a Research Associate at the Center for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (CSTI) of the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) at the University of Cambridge. His research areas include international comparative analysis of innovation policies, national, sectoral and regional innovation systems, innovation diffusion and skills strategies for adoption and diffusion of frontier technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Technologies.

Dr. Athar has attended Lahore University of Management Sciences for his Master of Business Administration, National University of Singapore for his Master in Public Administration, University of Sydney for his Master of Public Policy and Michigan State University for his Master of Science in Management, Strategy and Leadership before doing his PhD in Public Policy from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He has also attended various executive education courses at the INSEAD Business School and the Harvard Kennedy School.

Dr. Athar has won several awards in his civil service career as well as during his academic pursuits which include: Interdisciplinary Program Office’s Best Research Award (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology), Salzburg Global Seminar Fellowship (Austria), Lee Kuan Yew School Graduate Fellowship (National University of Singapore), International Post Graduate Coursework Scholarship (University of Sydney) and most communicative and most cooperative senior civil servant (National School of Public Policy Pakistan).

Dr. Wasim Ahmad Khan, PhD in Computer Science, is the cofounder of Techtics (AI Solutions Provider), specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Artificial General Intelligence. With a strong background as a software engineer, educationist, and researcher, he has spearheaded AI-driven projects, including a cutting-edge Medical AI Mobile Application. His expertise spans NLP, fine-tuning, transfer learning, and LLM quantization, along with RAG chatbot development. Passionate about cutting-edge technologies like Quantum Computing, Machine Learning, Cloud Robotics, and Cognitive Agents.

Dr. Yasir Niaz Khan obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Tubingen in 2013. During his Ph.D. he conducted research on detection of terrain (ground surfaces) using a camera mounted on a flying and a ground robot. Upon completing his graduate studies, Dr. Khan started teaching at FAST-NU, Lahore, Pakistan. He started a robotics Lab at FAST-NU to promote robotics in Pakistan. Dr. Khan joined The University of Lahore. He was Director of Research Group on Robotics and AI that he established at the university. He has been involved in multiple projects on Agricultural Automation funded by DAAD Germany. He has been working as a consultant with Engro Corp, etc. He worked as a Software Architect AI in 10Pearls for about an year.
