21 Traffic Violations
Traffic violations contribute to accidents, congestion and unsafe road conditions. To counter these challenges, PSCA has implemented an AI-powered Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS), which automates the monitoring and enforcement of traffic laws. AI-powered cameras strategically placed across major intersections and highways analyze live traffic footage to detect and record traffic violations. The system is capable of identifying 19 different types of violations, including over-speeding, red light violations, illegal parking, driving without seat belt, using mobile phones while driving, and one-way violations. The moment a violation is detected, an automated challan (fine) is generated and sent to the offender via WhatsApp. AI-driven traffic analytics also assist city planners and law enforcement in optimizing traffic signal timings, reducing congestion hotspots and managing peak traffic hours more efficiently. This system has led to a significant reduction in traffic accidents and improved road discipline.
Furthermore, the detection of juvenile drivers and vehicles exceeding passenger limits has improved road safety by ensuring that unauthorized individuals are not behind the wheel.
