EFFORTS MADE BY PSCA FOR WOMEN’S RIGHTS ARE PHENOMENAL: PARTICIPANTS

Country Representative of the United Nations Population Fund Dr. Lowe Shabane visited Punjab Safe Cities Authority Qurban Lines here on Tuesday. The 3-members delegation was received and briefed by Operation Commander safe Cities authority SSP Mustansar Feroz and SP Asim jasra.
On this occasion, the delegation was taken to the Authority’s various sections like the Operations and Management Center, and PUCAR 15Center. The delegation was also briefed about Media Monitoring Center, Advanced Traffic Management System, and Automatic Number Plate Recognition System. The delegation was given a detailed briefing on the usefulness of the Safe Cities project in the security situation. During the visit, the delegation reviewed the security and monitoring process with the help of PSCA cameras.
The Operation Commander PSCA SSP Mustansar Feroz briefed the delegation about Women Safety App and 15 responses system. A detailed briefing was given on the live chat and calling features of the Women Safety app
He added more, more than 2 Lacs women have installed the Punjab Police Women Safety App so far, the number of people installing apps designed to protect women is growing rapidly, Coordinated efforts are needed to prevent violence and harassment against women,
Expressing views on the occasion, Country Representative of the United Nations Population Fund Dr. Lowe Shabane said, It’s a good initiative to create an app for the protection of women. UNFPA is always ready to provide all possible support for the awareness of the Women Safety App. later a commemorative shield was also presented by PSCA at the end of the visit.
