Atlas Honda delegation led by Vice President Shunsuke Miyazaki visited Punjab Safe Cities Authority headquarters, Qurban Lines, here on Wednesday. Chief Operating Officer PSCA Muhammad Kamran Khan received and briefed the delegation about PSCA working. The delegation was briefed on the Intelligent Traffic Management System, Artificial Intelligence, and Modern Communication System installed at IC3. Chief Operating Officer Muhammad Kamran briefed that the number of fatal accidents has been reduced by 43% due to the intervention of an intelligent traffic management system. More safety features need to be introduced in motorcycles, he added. DIG Kamran Khan also suggested Atlas Honda officials to change the placement of front number plates on motorcycles. The Vice President Atlas Honda Shunsuke Miyazaki said that he was really impressed to see the modern working of PSCA. He assured that the Honda team will look into the suggestions and try to introduce more safety features to bikes for public safety. Earlier, Punjab Safe Cities Authority and National Highway& Motorway Police in collaboration with Atlas Honda arranged a road safety awareness camp at NH&MP Guidance Center Thokar Niaz Baig, Multan road. The purpose of this camp was to create awareness about the use of helmets, back view mirrors, head and tail lights, and indicators of bikes for public safety. Road users were given guidance through PSCA accidental camera footage and were trained on traffic laws. Back view mirrors were installed on motorcycles and safety helmets were distributed among road users. Director Public Relations PSCA Tauseef Sabih Gondal, while addressing the camp, said that Safe Cities Intelligent Traffic Management reduced fatal accidents by 43% and it has reduced journey time in the city. DIG Motorway Police Mehboob Aslam said that a crackdown is started against lane violators and bikers for not using helmets. Atlas Honda Vice President said that more safety features will be added to motorcycles in collaboration with the relevant departments.
